The Bamboo Bird
I’m Louise, owner of The Bamboo Bird. After 15 years spent in China and India, I returned to the UK a few years ago where I set up home in North Wales, a home that’s full of fabrics, furniture and homeware that I acquired whilst travelling. I’m naturally drawn to Chinoiserie and you’ll see this influencing my lamps, lanterns and choice of lampshade fabrics.
I make all of the lamps and lampshades featured in my Colwyn Bay workshop and the traditional bamboo birdcages are handmade in China.
The other products are unique finds that use traditional techniques to create truly beautiful pieces. I hope you love them as much as I do!
Our Range
Our bamboo lamps are ideal as a feature piece in the lounge or bedroom and we have a selection specifically designed for children. If you’d prefer a more subtle glow, our lamps look lovely with an LED candle rather than a bulb and these are also perfect as a night light!
Our bamboo birdcage lanterns can be hung from a hook in the garden or stand as a centrepiece on the table. Available in a range of soft tones they look beautiful with tea lights or LED candles.
All of our porcelain comes from the famous Jingdezhen region of China. It is exquisitely hand-painted, which adds to the unique nature of each piece.
Our vibrant Kashmir enamelware is created by local artisans. It looks beautiful and it’s sturdy enough for kids, camping and the garden,
